Malanc Projects (Pty) Ltd ("Malanc Projects", "we", "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how we use it and what rights you have, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

Information we collect

We collect only the information you actively provide to us, namely:

• Contact and enquiry information — your name, company or organisation, email address, telephone number and any details you include in a message.
• Project information — the service you are enquiring about, project location, indicative budget, timeline and any drawings or documents you choose to attach.
• Newsletter subscriptions — your email address, where you have subscribed.
• Technical information — standard web server logs recorded by our hosting provider, which may include IP address, browser type and pages visited.

We do not collect special personal information, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Why we process your information

We process the information above in order to respond to your enquiry, prepare and issue a quotation, deliver contracted engineering services, maintain project records as required by law and by the standard forms of contract we work under, and — where you have subscribed — to send occasional engineering insights. We rely on your consent and on the legitimate interests of conducting our business.

Sharing your information

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. We may share information where it is necessary to deliver the service you have requested — for example with a supplier quoting equipment for your project, a specialist testing laboratory, or a professional adviser — and where we are required to do so by law or by a regulatory authority. Anyone we share information with is required to protect it appropriately.

How long we keep it

Enquiry information that does not result in an appointment is retained for up to twenty-four months. Project records, including correspondence, drawings, test records and handover documentation, are retained for the periods required by law and by the applicable conditions of contract, which for construction work is typically a minimum of five years after completion. Newsletter subscriptions are retained until you unsubscribe.

Security

We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, unauthorised access and misuse. This website is served over an encrypted connection, and form submissions are transmitted to our own email systems. No transmission over the internet can be guaranteed entirely secure, and you share information with us on that understanding.

Cookies

This website does not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels or third-party analytics profiling. Where a map is embedded on our contact page, that content is served by Google and may set cookies under Google's own privacy terms. Fonts and stylesheets are served from our own domain, not from a third party.

Your rights under POPIA

You have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, to request that we correct or delete it, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent to marketing communications at any time. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at inquiries@malanc.co.za. We will respond within a reasonable period.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) if you believe your information has been handled unlawfully.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised, and material changes will be reflected here.
