A reservoir that is only inspected when someone drives out to it is a reservoir you find out about after it has overflowed or run dry. Telemetry converts that from a reactive situation into a monitored one, and it usually pays for itself in avoided call-outs and avoided water losses well before it pays for itself in anything else.

Malanc Projects installs instrumentation and telemetry across water infrastructure: reservoir and sump level, flow, pressure, pump run status and alarm conditions, brought back to a control room, a SCADA system or simply a phone.

Level instrumentation
Ultrasonic, hydrostatic and float level measurement for reservoirs, sumps, wet wells and process tanks.
Flow measurement
Electromagnetic and mechanical flow metering installed with the straight lengths and orientation the meter actually needs to be accurate.
Pressure monitoring
Pressure transmitters and switches on rising mains, distribution networks and pump discharge arrangements.
Pump status and run-hour monitoring
Run status, fault and run-hour data captured so duty balance and maintenance intervals are based on evidence.
Remote telemetry units
RTUs and panel-mounted controllers configured to collect, log and transmit data from remote sites.
Communications
GSM, radio and network communication links appropriate to site coverage and the client's IT environment.
SCADA integration
Data integrated into existing SCADA or control room systems, with tags, alarms and trends configured meaningfully.
Alarm and notification configuration
Alarms configured so they mean something — high, low and rate-of-change conditions routed to the people who can act on them.
Loop testing and calibration
Every instrument loop tested end to end and calibrated so the displayed value is trustworthy.

Yes, and it is one of the more cost-effective upgrades available to a municipality. We survey the existing panel and available space, add instrumentation and a controller, and establish communications. Where the existing panel has no spare capacity we will say so up front rather than cramming it in.

Whatever actually works at that site. GSM where there is reliable coverage, radio where there is not, and network connections where the site is already on a corporate network. We check coverage on site before committing to a method, because the assumption that GSM is available everywhere is regularly wrong.

Usually, yes. We work with the protocols and tag structures your existing system uses and configure the integration so the new sites appear consistently alongside your existing ones rather than as an isolated island with its own login.

By configuring alarms deliberately rather than enabling everything the device can generate. Thresholds are set to conditions that require action, routing is set to people who can act, and nuisance alarms are tuned out during the settling-in period. An alarm system that is routinely ignored is worse than none.

Yes. Every loop is tested end to end against a known reference and calibrated, with the results recorded. An instrument that is correctly wired but incorrectly scaled will report confidently wrong numbers, which is more dangerous than reporting nothing at all.
